Priyanka Chopra, 36, marries Nick Jonas, 26, in 3-day wedding spectacular in Rajasthan, India

With a barrage of spectacular fireworks lighting up the night sky over Jodhpur, Priyanka Chopra – a close friend of the Duchess of Sussex – married her fiance Nick Jonas on Saturday.

The Indian-born actress, 36, and the 26-year-old American musician tied the knot at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Rajasthan, just four months after their engagement.

Jonas’s father, Paul Kevin Jonas Sr, a Christian pastor, conducted the ceremony, a culmination of three days of celebrations.

The couples guests, who had begun arriving at the palace on Thursday afternoon, were presented with special personalized silver coins  decorated with Lord Ganesha and Goddess Laxmi on them.

They also received welcome packs which included Indian treats, shoes and an ‘information guide’ for their three day extravaganza.

To ensure the couple’s control over photographs of the event cell phone use was strictly prohibited inside the $60,000-a-night venue and each of the guests was required to keep hold of a card which had to be displayed at all times until they left the premises.

Shortly after the wedding ceremony had concluded she wrote on Twitter: “One of the most special things that our relationship has given us is a merging of families who love and respect each others faiths and cultures.”

Jonas is an singer, songwriter, actor, and record producer who began acting at the age of seven, and released his debut single in 2002. Chopra, who was the winner of the Miss World 2000 pageant is frequently described as one India’s highest-paid and most popular celebrities.
