AdAsia Lahore inaugurated the 31st edition of this prestigious congress with host, creative maestro Shahzad Nawaz leading us through a countdown, welcome notes from Chairman and PAA Waqar Haidri, former Chairman OC AdAsia Lahore Javed Jabbar, and current Chairman Sarmad Ali, Note of Thanks from Past Chairman PAA Jawad Humayun, Passing of the Baton, Chairman AFAA Raymond Sou and AFAA Awards Ceremony.
Household name Richard Quest is CNN’s foremost international business correspondent and host of Quest Means Business. He had very effective conversation with Sir Martin Sorrell, renowned founder of the world’s largest advertising group WPP that owns GroupM, J Walter Thompson, Ogilvy, Grey and Y&R. They had an engaging and enlightening conversation who are no doubt two of the brightest minds in the media and advertising industries.
The next series of talks were done by world’s leading names in creativity and engagement. First up was Ali Rez, Executive Creative Director, Middle East & Pakistan, BBDO Worldwide. Mr. Rez presented a fascinating insight into Driving Social Change Through Advertising. He was followed by CNN’s foremost international business correspondent Richard Quest as he Quests for Businesses in a talk which was the most engaging session of the day. The session concluded with a presentation on Enhancing Society with Digital Creativity by Yasuharu Saski, Executive Creative Director of the Dentsu Network whose clients include Coca-Cola, Glico, Google, Honda, Kirin Brewery, Shiseido, and UNIQLO.
In the last session renowned showbiz celebrities Atiqa Odho and Fawad Khan had the longest but interesting session covering advertising, brand endorsements and CSR. Sadly many delegates from Karachi left the venue during the session which was not in a good taste.
