According to the vision of Chief Minister Punjab, LWMC and District Administration Lahore jointly kicked off Anti-Dengue and Sanitation Week awareness campaign. Formal Ceremony was organized at LWMC head office in which Deputy Commissioner Lahore, Managing Director LWMC and Renown celebrity Mr. Ibrar Ul Haq took part. Talking on the occasion MD LWMC stated that department has made extra ordinary arrangements to combat dengue epidemic and in this regard special cleanup operation is going on, he also added that LWMC is working in close coordination with District Administration and we are jointly conducting Anti-Dengue and Sanitation week awareness program which would reach every public and private educational institutes, organizing awareness the session, conducting awareness walk, displaying of public service messages across the city to sensitize the public to combat the dengue epidemic by maintaining cleanliness.
Deputy Commissioner Lahore stated that LWMC services in the city are exceptional and launching this awareness campaign aim to reduce the no of dengue patients by raising awareness among the general public on how to combat Dengue. Renowned Celebrity Mr. Ibrar Ul Haq expressed that LWMC role in the city is quite remarkable as the sanitation condition of this provincial capital is unmatchable. He offered his services as environmental ambassador to all extent in raising awareness among people regarding preventive measures to combat dengue and maintaining Cleanliness.
He focused that youth should play the vital role in this campaign by social media as they are receptive in nature and holds the maximum percentage in the population. He also said that I will take part in every campaign regarding this social issue and am being thankful to LWMC and district administration of Lahore to hold such awareness campaign. Later an awareness camp was also installed outside Lahore Press Club in which all the guests took part and especially Commissioner Lahore who led the awareness walk regarding Anti-Dengue and Sanitation week.
