Seasoned journalist Owais Tohid quits Public News and joins 92 News HD

Owais Tohid has joined 92 News Television and is set to appear in the program Muqabil from August 19, 2019, he shared this information on social media. His show will go on air during prime time 10:00 pm – 11:00 pm slot along with Harun Ur Rasheed as co-host. Watching Awais and Hrun will be an interesting as both are from different school of thoughts. Harun Ur Rasheed is a hard-core right winger, conservative and once was a sympathizer of Imran Khan, on the other hand Owais Tohid is a liberal voice with an inclination towards left. So the discussion will be interesting due to their conflict of thoughts. Previously, Zafar Hilali was doing the show with Harun Ur Rasheed and both were from same school of thought and that was not appealing for the viewers of Pakistan.

Owais Tohid, a seasoned journalist, stayed at Public TV for nine months and hosted a program Crosscheck. Before joining that, he was with Capital TV.

With over 25 years of journalistic experience, Tohid has headed three private television channels – ARYGeo (E) and Dunya. He also worked hard for the formation of Aap News reporting team as Director News but left the channel even before the launch of Aap News.

Owais Tohid has also worked for International media houses; he worked for the BBC in London and was Pakistan/Afghanistan correspondent of Christian Science Monitor. He has been bureau chief of AFP in Karachi and has written for Wall Street JournalTime and The Guardian, among others.

Mediabites wish Owais Tohid all goodluck for his new journey with 92 HD News!
