BREAKING: Telenor Pakistan’s media account may move to Starcom Mediavest Pakistan


Starcom Mediavest Pakistan, a part of the Starcom may get the media mandate for Pakistan’s mobile giant, Telenor Pakistan, sources say.

Currently, OMD Pakistan is handling the account of Telenor Pakistan since last three years and is responsible for the account’s strategic planning, digital acumen, team strength and buying.

Telenor Pakistan, branded as Telenor 4G, is a Pakistani mobile data and digital services provider, owned by Norwegian company Telenor Group. Currently, Telenor Pakistan has a total subscriber base of 44 million with 28% cellular market share in Pakistan and more than 1,900 employees.

Starcom is among the largest media networks in the world and a part of France’s Publicis Groupe, the third-largest communications group globally. Headquartered in Chicago. SMG also reorganized into 3 divisions—Connections (media brands), Content (creative assets), and Tech solutions (RUN, extech)—to better reflect the fact that it now derives more than 50% of its business from digital, content, and data/analytics. SMG employs roughly 8,000 people in 110 offices worldwide, including Australia, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Haïti, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Malaysia, Mexico, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, and Spain, among others.
