BIG ACHIEVEMENT: Pakistan Wins the Bridge Championship Finals in Amman, Jordan


The Pakistan Bridge Teams playing at the Zonal Bridge Championship at Amman Jordan from 23rd to 30th June 2019 brought laurels to the Country by winning a Medal in each field.

Pakistan won  Gold Medal in the Women Series where they beat India by a big margin in the Finals played here at Amman. The Team Consisted of Rubina Agha, Najm Abid, Shahnaz Pirzada , Qudsia Dossa , Rubina Hai and Fatima (Nani Mother and Daughter).

The women’s team played against India, Jordan and Palestine. The final encounter was dominated by Pakistan who were playing against India. Earlier the Pakistan women’s team washed out the Jordanian team.

The Pakistan women’s bridge team is now qualified for the The Bermuda Bowl that will take place in Wuhan, China on 28th September this year.

Bridge is a card game of strategy requiring intelligence and a sharp mind. Once again, Pakistani women were totally on point! Congratulations to the Pakistan Women’s Bridge Team.

The Mixed Team did very well throughout but lost the Finals to India.  They earned Silver Medal. The Team Consisted of Ahsan Qureshi, Rehana Saigol, Zia Hyder Naqi, Neelofar Aslam ,  Saeed Pirzada and Fehmida Sarfraz.

The Seniors Team consisting of five players as Mr.  Azwer withdrew due to health reasons won Bronze Medal. The Team consists of  Ghalib Bandesha, Izzat Khalil,  Ghias Malik,  Safdar Mahmood, Anwar Kizilbash.

The Open Team consisting of Farooq Alvi, Jahangir Ahmed, Khaled Mohiuddin, Hamed Mohiuddin, Mubashir Puri and  Arslan Mansoor won the Bronze Medal as well.
