Realme has got a lot of praise and the question has raised, if Realme is going to dominate OPPO in the market.
Yesterday was a roller coaster ride from Lahore’s one corner to the other to witness the launch of realme3 at Nishat Hotel. While taking notes from the speeches I was thinking about the tag line of realme that was realme3 powered by Oppo.
As you all know that realme is a mid price range phone of Oppo as their parent company.
Realme Launch was very crisp to the point and was well managed. I still have doubts that in brand positioning realme is coming out as best and quick as compared to Oppo.
Realme brand team highlighted the features of realme 3 in very effective way and then pricing was a clear winner. Oppo took a long time to capture the smartphone market of Pakistan in the presence of Huawei and Samsung, but Oppo’s own brand realme is really a threat to the might of Oppo.
The brand team said the body and camera is all done by Oppo, but in less price. So in current slow economy of Pakistan one can enjoy the features of Oppo mobile in less price, and the customers must be taking it seriously to give a second thought to realme.
When I asked from BM realme Ms. Nomah Javed about the Cannibalise effect to Oppo, she said “No, this won’t affect the sales of Oppo as ‘realme’ is going to target the youth, mid range market.”
When I asked, “Your team said in presentation that ‘realme’ is going to target youth of Pakistan but why then the price range is Rs. 22K to 29K?” She had an answer for that too but that was that satisfactory.
It is very clear that ‘realme’ has outstanding team players who can deliver good presentations with great energy and has a good brand in their hands.
Singer Amanat Ali was there at the event as the brand ambassador but sadly he did not sing on the stage. That’s really strange on part of ‘realme’ management because it could add flavor to the dry presentations.
