“PTV is all set to announce its new MD within next few days”, says Fawad Chaudhry. According to him the existing administration of PTV is not working up to the mark. Moreover, he says that there is no proper strategy designed to minimize the loses the company is facing at the time.
Fawad Chaudhry also points out that the administration has failed to resolve the payment issue of employees. Their behavior towards their working union and employees is inappropriate. Chaudhry himself took the initiative to listen to the problem of non-payment of pension commutation. He even tried to push the administration but all in vain.
Employees are in a devastating situation as their contracts have not been renewed nor they have witnessed an increase in their compensations. Furthermore, the employees are questioning the administration about opening vacancies for new employees.
PTV is hiring more staff despite having serious financial issues. The situation has encouraged the working union to go on strike. The frustrating situation completely stands against the idea of appointing the new MD.
The new Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan has also highlighted the fact that PTV should portray the positive and impactful image of our country’s politics and culture. Prime Minister also forced the administration to work effectively to overcome its financial crisis.
“PTV lost bid of PSL and for the first time in a decade failed to show Pakistan South Africa cricket Series,” says the Prime Minister.
Owing to the existing performance of PTV, it is not far when the national channel of Pakistan will shut down.
The administration needs to work on the strategies and planning of the firm to come over the financial crisis. Instead of hiring staff for hiring posts which demand huge pay packages, PTV should improve its performance utilizing existing employees.
