Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul who are Indian international cricket players got into trouble of being criticized and banned for 1st ODI against Australia because of the controversial comment on women Hardik Panya made upon being asked a question by filmmaker Karan Johar at his chat show Coffee with Karan.
The notice is taken and is under observation of Committee of Administrators chief Vinod Rai on Thursday who recommended a two-ODI ban for the duo.
The situation became awkward when the player said, “I like to watch and observe how they (women) move. I’m little from the black side so I need to see how they move.” when he was asked by Karan Johar that why he doesn’t ask women their name in the club.
The CoA seems to take the matter very seriously probably to make sure that this doesn’t happen again.
“I am not convinced with Hardik’s explanation and I have recommended a two-match ban for both players. However, the final decision will be taken once Diana gives her go ahead,” Rai told news agency PTI.
Because of the nature of the show, Hardik became quite comfortable with making such comments and continued to say so. He told that he has been with multiple women and is open about it in front of his parents.
However, the all-rounder gave the statement that he is deeply regretful and wouldn’t repeat this kind of behaviour again when his comments were labelled as misogynistic and sexist and he was given a show cause notice by CoA on Wednesday.
