YOUTUBE is down across the world, leaving users unable to access the popular video-sharing site and triggering social media outrage worldwide.
Users attempting to access the site have been met with a largely blank page, with grey boxes where videos should be.
Any attempt to play a video is triggering the message: “An error occurred. Please try again later”.
YouTube users responded angrily via social media.
Briayana Sarmiento tweeted: “Is something wrong? Because YouTube is not working! None of the apps work! Is everyone else having a bad time with this?”
Gabby Demartino added: “Is it just me or is YouTube broken at the moment?”
Naomi Flores commented: “Why is YouTube down when I have only five minutes to watch a quick video then head to class”.
Meanwhile Brittney Bytch posted: “Is YouTube down? Because I need to watch and it keeps giving me an error”.
Another Twitter user added: “Guys, YouTube just shut down in the US and UK, I checked my WiFi. My friend is having the same problem”.
Lewis Hilsenteger, a YouTube content creator known for his tech reviews, jokingly asked: “YouTube has been down for almost an hour. Anyone taking job applications?
Web video producer Marques Brownlee, who had nearly 3 million Twitter followers, commented: “Never seen YouTube down for 30 plus minutes like this before.”
In a Twitter, post-YouTube commented: “Thanks for your reports about YouTube, YouTube TV, and YouTube Music access issues.
“We’re working on resolving this and will let you know once fixed.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will keep you update.”
