India’s tennis legend Sania Mirza and her cricketer husband Shoiab Malik are blessed with a baby boy, the super excited dad confirmed on Twitter today.
‘Excited to announce: Its a boy, and my girl is doing great and keeping strong as usual #Alhumdulilah. Thank you for the wishes and Duas, we are humbled #BabyMirzaMalik,’ the Pakistani cricketer wrote on the micro-blogging site.
The tennis star and the cricketer got married in 2010 and the couple announced the pregnancy in April this year.
The build up to their marriage was highly controversial due to Shoaib’s ‘first’ marriage with another Hyderabad girl Ayesha.
Shoaib initially denied the allegations and claimed that Ayesha duped him into a phone marriage by sending photographsof a different woman.
Ayesha went ahead and filed an FIR against Shoaib alleging fraud and criminal intimidation which led to the cricketer’s passport being confiscated by the police.
The all-rounder agreed to divorce Ayesha after being pressurised by community leaders.

They say ‘all well that ends well’. Thus, after high-voltage drama, Mirza and Malik got married in an intimate ceremony on April 12, 2010.
Decked in a red saree, which her mother Nasima wore in her nikah 25 years ago, Sania married Shoaibat nikah ceremony held at Hotel Taj Krishna.
