Khan made national news in April 2014, when a social dissident Shakil Wahidullah recorded an appeal to against him in the Peshawar High Court asserting him of debasement of Rs 1.8 million amid his residency as Provincial Minister for Sports, Culture, Tourism and Museums. Following which a request was led by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to test the issue. The request officer noticed that Khan had no part in the issue.
