The tale of missing persons is not a new thing in Pakistan. This tale is about Raza Khan from Lahore, who was an active member of civil society. On Saturday he attended a discussion on the recent protest by Labaik Ya Rasool Allah at Faizabad and after that, he went to his home, located at Model colony, and comes in the territory of Naseerabad Police Station.
Raza Khan could not be contacted after he went home, his mobile is also switched off and it is not yet clear who is behind this incident. However, Raza’s brother has submitted an application to the concern police station to register FIR against unknown persons, but it has not been registered yet.
Raza Mahmood was a social activist who took different initiatives around the concept of peace and conflict resolution. He was working as convener of Aghaz’e Dosti; a friendship initiative to provide a common ground between the Indian and Pakistani youth to interact. He was an active member of Lowkey Lokai; another community initiative that aims at bringing different people on the same platform to debate, discuss and propose a peaceful solution to different social issues.
Such incidents are making a fearful environment for all social and political activists who are into the business of reforming the society.
