“Pakistan is one of the friendliest countries on earth. So, prepare to be invited into people’s homes, take more selfies than you can count, and have every preconception that you ever held about this area of the world changed forever,” Samuel said.
Joynson and slpoper both are from southern England, they visited Pakistan in summer of 2016, in their journey they spend few days in Lahore, Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Later they travelled through the Kaghan valley to Naran and then to Gilgit via Babusar pass. Their last destination was serine valley of Hunza where they climbed the Hon pass (4,257m).
They chose to climb Hone pass like Eric Shipton, who is Britain’s one of the famous mountaineers, described the view from the top of the pass ‘the ultimate manifestation of mountain grandeur’, they followed his footsteps and experienced the most beautiful panorama.
Samuel told media about his journey experience, “The view from the Hon Pass was indeed the greatest natural sight that either of us has ever seen, and we would recommend it to anyone with a keen interest in mountaineering.”
British backpacker society encourages people to travel to far flung destinations in the developing countries which are rarely visited by tourists.
While discussing about the security issues which is primary issue for the foreign tourists Adam gave his advice for travelers, to put aside security issues in Pakistan and do some research on their part. He also told media that travelers should seek advice from the respective government but also talk to local people to get information about the situation.
“We believe that travel is at its best when it changes a visitor’s preconceptions, and few experiences achieve this more than travelling in Pakistan” he implored.
The duo recommended traveling to kaghan valley, Hunza valley and climbing the Rakaposhi (Nagar valley) (7,788m) and Nanga Parbat(Diamer) (8,126m) peaks.
They also insisted tourists should travel through Karakorum highway, from Islamabad to the china border on the khunjerab pass.
