Muniba Mazari who is known to be the ‘Iron lady’ of Pakistan has been sued by her ex-husband for defaming him and distorting facts about their marriage life. Khurram Shahzad who served in Pakistan air force and now working as a commercial pilot has filed the case in a local court, Islamabad.
Khurram and Mazari married in December 2005. They met an accident on Feburary 27, 2008 in which she lost both her legs and in year 2015 mazari divorced him.
Shahzad has accused Muniba that, “she after getting international exposure was intended to start a new career in singing and modelling which is against our family values, however I appreciated and encouraged her artistic skills in paintings so she could recover to normalcy.”
It is difficult to fathom that how singing can bring disgrace to an esteemed officer of defense forces but Shahzad has maintained that he could not allow Muniba to go for it.
Muniba became a motivational speaker on National TV after her struggle through the accident, it also got her the tittle of ‘Iron lady’ of Pakistan. Now she is UN Women Ambassador of Good will in Pakistan.
Mazari has talked about the tragic incident in her life at many forums and Shahzad has divulged in his petition that she has deliberately distorted the story to get more sympathy from people and doing that she has painted me as a self-fish and cruel person. Khurram has a three months son from his second marriage and he says such words from Muniba are insulting for my whole family.
Now Shahzad has sued Muniba on these charges for Rs 10 million, which is strange in a sense that how it is going to help him and his family for the supposed character assassination done by Muniba. However, he has also requested the court to abstain Muniba from further defaming him in public on false grounds.
The court will observe first hearing of the case on 7th of December,
