Prime minister Nawaz Sharif met with the founder of Asia’s top Ecommerce company Ali Baba, Jack Ma the executive chairman of the company, welcomed the prime minister to his headquarters in Hangzhou, China today.
The prime minister was present to witness the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding between Pakistan and Alibaba group holdings ltd, the memorandum will promote Pakistans exports through Ecommerce worldwide by Small and Medium enterprises.
The agreement was signed by Khurram Dastgir Pakistan’s commerce Minister, president of Alibaba group Micheal Evans and the senior vice president Douglas Feagin.
Ali Baba will be providing training programs to Small and Medium enterprises to assist them with optimizing exports through E-commerce
The agreement will help SMEs immensely in growth of their business. AliBaba reported in 2016 an annual growth of 55% in it’s revenue with US $ 14.3 billion in sales on singles day.
The agreement can be a makeshift for E-commerce, AliBaba is ought to be taking over the e-commerce giant Amazon
