LAHORE: Cricket is serious business in Pakistan. Perhaps that is why banks on Wednesday in Lahore saw long queues where fans from across the province waited to get their hands on the tickets for PSL Final set to be held on Sunday, March 5 at the Gaddafi Stadium
As ticket sales for the Pakistan Super League final began on Wednesday, desperate fans rushed to local banks where tickets were being sold after e-tickets sold out within hours.
Cricket enthusiasts from all over Punjab had made their way to Lahore, hoping to find cheap tickets at bank branches designated to sell them. However, a large number of fans have been disappointed after most of the banks announced that Rs. 500 and Rs. 4,000 tickets have been sold out.
Tickets for the PSL Final
“PSL chairman Najam Sethi announced 10,000 tickets for people like us and now just after few hours, the banks are telling us, the tickets are sold out, how is it possible,” said a young man waiting outside a bank.
Some started raising slogans against Najam Sethi, PCB chairman and Shahryar Khan. The angry crowd has refused to budge from their places until they get the tickets.
According to media reports only Rs. 8,000 and Rs. 12,000 tickets are available now.
Tickets for the Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis enclosures are quite pricey. Each ticket is worth Rs 12,000 yet that has not stopped fans from stopping short of booking a berth for the Pakistan Super League second edition final.
Online tickets for the Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis enclosures have completely sold out. Online tickets were available for cricket enthusiasts for the final from Tuesday, February 28.
