Uzair Baig has joined Dunya News as Director Sales and Marketing, soon after Muhammad Omair Khan left the media group. His appointment comes soon after the latter left along with Tausif Shah.
According to Dunya News, Sohail Naqvi, GM Sales and Marketing and his team of Abdullah, Aamir and Aleem are still intact with Dunya News. Sources also disclosed that they also got increments and due promotions. Aamir Siddiqui has been promoted to GM Marketing Operations, Agha Zohaib promoted to Manager Marketing while Aleem Ahmad and Adil Ghayas were promoted to Manager Sales.
Uzair Baig has previously worked at Nai Baat Media as Group Head of Sales from May 2015 to January 2016, where he was responsible to ensure smooth establishing the department of Marketing & Sales with an eye on global electronic media market trends, organizational objectives and proven success for growing business with top national TV channel brands.
Prior to his appointment at Nai Baat he worked at Channel 92 as Head of Sales and Marketing from December 2014 to April 2015.
He has also worked at Dunya News in the past. He was Head of Sales at Dunya TV from January 2014 to November 2014.
He started off his professional career in Media from Geo TV as Manager Marketing Operations in 2004, serving the biggest Media Network for 4 years, after 3 years of experience as an Accounts Officer at Pakistan State Oil (PSO).
He has an ACCA which he complet in 2013 and a Master degree in Economics from University of Karachi, which he completed in 2003.
It will be interesting so see whether Uzair Baig is able to fill the void which is created after an experienced campaigner Muhammad Omair Khan left the media group.
